alliston athletics gymnastics Club<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Alliston Gymnastics Club is located at 4941 Dean Drive in Alliston, Ontario.  Our facility is over 10,000 sq ft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club has been  providing gymnastics for the children and youth of the Alliston area for nearly 30 years.  We offer programs for all skills and abilities in the South Simcoe Community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club is a proud member of Gymnastics Ontario<\/strong><\/a> (Provincial governing body) and Gymnastics Canada Gymnastics<\/strong><\/a> (National governing body).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

About us<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Alliston Gymnastics Club operates as a Not For Profit Corporation.  A Board of Directors, elected by it\u2019s members, oversees the operations of the Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as for any corporation, the board of directors of a nonprofit has three primary legal duties known as the \u201cduty of care,\u201d \u201cduty of loyalty,\u201d and \u201cduty of obedience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Duty of Care: Take care of the nonprofit by ensuring prudent use of all assets, including facility, people, and good will;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Duty of Loyalty: Ensure that the nonprofit\u2019s activities and transactions are, first and foremost, advancing its mission; Recognize and disclose conflicts of interest; Make decisions that are in the best interest of the nonprofit corporation; not in the best interest of the individual board member<\/em> (or any other individual or for-profit entity).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Duty of Obedience: Ensure that the nonprofit obeys applicable laws and regulations; follows its own bylaws; and that the nonprofit adheres to its stated corporate purposes\/mission.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
